Today, we hear a lot about Made In France, but what does it entail? And why is it so important?

1/ What are the advantages of products made in France?

The "Made In France" label is an indication that the manufacturer can add to the packaging and to the product itself if all or part of it is made in France. This does not mean that 100% of the manufacturing must be French, but that the majority of the production was carried out in France. The Origine France Garantie label, for example, requires two criteria:

• The place where the product acquires its essential characteristics is located in France.
• At least 50% of the unit cost price is acquired in France.

At Carotte & Cie, we do our best! The vast majority of our suppliers are French. The organic cotton is imported but processed (treated and printed) by our French partner. The sponges and swaddling cloths are also. The stuffing wadding is made from recycled materials and, like the wadding in our awakening books and cubes, is also manufactured in France. Our printed and woven composition labels come from Portugal. Finally, China is the only country in the world that can manufacture our lovely lullabies for the musical boxes.

2/ "Made in France", a guarantee of quality?

Today, and rightly so, consumers tend to be much more discerning about the products they buy, and even more so about the raw materials used and the manufacturing processes. "Made in France" is clearly a quality criterion. Indeed, our savoir-faire, the "made in France," is unique and recognized worldwide. We are well protected in France; the standards to follow, CE as well as the labels, allow to protect the consumer. For example, having a comforter made in France guarantees the use of non-toxic materials for baby and durability thanks to the CE standard on toys. This standard is mandatory for commercialization in France, including for young creators.

3/ Why is buying French so important?

By purchasing Made in France early learning toys and accessories, you are supporting French industry!

"Made In France" is a good way to support the French economy. It promotes businesses, whether small or large and/or local. It encourages employment and helps to showcase our rich expertise. At Carotte & Cie, each product is created in our workshop in Roubaix, from design to production. I work alone in the workshop and delegate part of the production to solidarity workshops such as ESATs or more conventional ones, but always in the region.

France is also the country of human rights. Working conditions are regulated in France, and any breach can be severely punished. This guarantees work in good conditions.
