Creating your advent calendar means enjoying a manual activity. Shaping it, choosing surprises to play with or taste, and even deciding how you will display it in your home... All these steps are important! And what better way to offer a calendar made with your own hands? You won't wait 30 seconds before seeing the blissful smile on your child's face.
If you have two children, you can involve them in turns in creating the calendar for their younger sibling or older sibling and in choosing the surprises. As a parent, this will allow you to spend some one-on-one time with your child.
How to make the Carotte & Cie DIY Advent Calendar?

The necessary materials to make your calendar
To make the Carotte & Cie DIY Advent calendar, you will need:
- 20 A4 sheets (minimum 90gr to be strong enough);
- 1 tube of glue;
- 1 pair of scissors;
- 1 utility knife (for delicate areas);
- tape;
- 24 small surprises (sweets, chocolate, notes, pins, hair ties, keychains, figurines, etc.).
Steps to make your homemade Advent calendar
- Print the templates from the downloadable link;
- Cut out each of the 24 templates with your scissors. Don't hesitate to use the utility knife for the corners if you want a clean finish;
- Fold your templates along the indicated areas;
- For small assemblies, glue the first side and leave the other two free to fill your box;
- For large assemblies, glue the different parts to the base, then glue two sides according to the indications of each design to leave the other two sides free to fill your box;
- Fill each box with the chosen surprise;
- Glue to close.
You are now ready to make your DIY Advent calendar!
All that's left is to choose the surprises and see your child marvel at your creation as they open their little box – that will be your greatest reward.
