Children love to open a window of their calendar every day and discover a little surprise. So, why not make it yourself? In this article, we suggest you discover a homemade Advent calendar made by Carotte & Cie. We explain how to make it and provide the link to download the printable. So, get your scissors ready!

DIY Advent calendar: what are the advantages?

A DIY Advent calendar is a creative activity

Creating your own Advent calendar is about enjoying a manual activity. Shaping it, choosing surprises to play with or enjoy, and even deciding how you will display it in your home... All these steps are important! And what could be better than offering a calendar made with your own hands? You won't wait 30 seconds before seeing the blissful smile on your child's face.

If you have two children, you can involve them in turns in creating the calendar for their younger sibling or older sibling and in choosing the surprises. As a parent, this will allow you to spend some one-on-one time with your child.

  • Fill each box with the chosen surprise;
  • Glue to close.

All that's left is to choose the surprises, and seeing your child marvel at your creation as they open their little box will be your greatest reward.
