DIY Advent Calendar, what are the advantages?

The DIY Advent calendar is a creative activity

Cutting, gluing, assembling, arranging… all these steps are an integral part of the creative process. And if there's one word that sums up a DIY calendar, it's "do it yourself." So, with the Carotte&Cie calendar, we'll give you a helping hand, because you'll be able to download a link to a printable. But after that, it's up to you!

Creating your Advent calendar is therefore primarily about enjoying a manual activity. Shaping, choosing the surprises, and even deciding how you're going to display it, all these steps are important! And it's true that there's no shortage of ideas for presenting your magical creation. In the form of a Christmas tree, hanging, in a basket... The choice is yours. And what could be better than giving a gift you made yourself? The surprise will be all the more enjoyable!

A way to personalize your creation

Unlike store-bought Advent calendars, DIY versions offer you the freedom to personalize them, as you are not dependent on the gifts hidden inside. In your creations, you can vary the gifts. Have fun hunting for small surprises that are sure to please. For this, think of traditional chocolates, but also candy canes, small notes, figurines like Legos or Playmobiles, an original little scrunchie for girls, pins, or even a colorful bath bomb.

And if you have an artist's soul, you can draw some designs on the outer sides of the boxes of the DIY Advent calendar to personalize it even more.

Allows you to share a special moment with your children

24 surprises to discover every day, you won't wait 30 seconds before seeing the blissful smile on your child's face. It's a lovely way to wait until Christmas and to please your children. Discovering the small gifts in the calendar can also be seen as a ritual where you gather as a family and share a moment of happiness.

If you have two children, you can involve them in turns in creating the calendar for their brother or sister and in choosing the surprises. As a parent, this will allow you to spend some one-on-one time with your child.
