How to care for Carotte & Cie products so they can accompany your baby for years to come?
At Carotte & Cie, each creation is designed to accompany families in their daily lives: meals, naps, cuddles, outings, teething... In short, a real baby's life!
Because they are used every day, our comforters, bibs, musical cushions, and rattles deserve proper care to maintain their softness and quality. Good news: most of our creations are easy to care for.
Here are all our tips.

1) Why properly care for baby accessories?
Little ones constantly handle their favorite objects. They put them in their mouths, cuddle them, take them everywhere...
Regular maintenance helps to:
- maintain good hygiene;
- preserve natural materials;
- keep colors vibrant;
- significantly extend the product's lifespan;
- pass certain items down to a younger sibling or keep them as keepsakes.
I select quality fabrics (cotton, double gauze, terry cloth, teddy fabric...) so they stay beautiful wash after wash.
2) How to wash mini teething bibs and bibs?
Mini teething bibs are probably the most heavily used everyday accessories. Between saliva from teething, meals, and small spit-ups, they often go into the washing machine.
Our tips
✔ Machine wash at 30°C
✔ Gentle detergent
✔ Avoid bleach
✔ No tumble drying if possible
✔ Air dry
And thanks to their quality materials, they quickly regain their softness after drying.
3) How to wash a Carotte & Cie comforter?
The comforter is often baby's favorite companion. It's therefore normal for it to need regular washing.
Before washing
If baby has difficulty parting with their comforter, plan to wash it during naptime or at night... or even better: have a second identical comforter in regular rotation so they have the same wear and tear.
Washing
- Machine wash at 30°C
- Delicate cycle
- In a laundry bag if possible
- Gentle spin
Drying
We recommend natural drying to preserve the softness of the materials. After drying, gently reshape the fibers with your hand.
4) How to clean a teething ring or a rattle?
Carotte & Cie teething rings combine natural wood and fabric. Beech wood is a hard, dense wood, perfect for baby's little teeth; but it should never be left immersed in water to maintain all its properties.
For the wood part
A simple, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Then immediately wipe with a dry cloth.
For the fabric part
Clean gently by hand or locally with a damp cloth. In exceptional cases, a very delicate wash is possible by protecting the wood part, then allowing it to dry completely.
Gling-gling rattles contain a small waterproof bell, allowing for their pretty tinkling sound. To care for them, machine wash at 30°C and prefer gentle air drying.
5) How to care for a musical cushion?
The musical cushion often accompanies naps, quiet moments, and bedtime routines. It contains a musical mechanism protected by a waterproof casing. It is therefore perfectly possible to clean the musical cushion as is.
Wash the cushion at 30°C in the machine, ideally in a protective mesh bag. Then let it dry naturally.
6) Do personalized products require special care?
Yes! The name is made with quality textile marking, ironed on and designed to withstand daily life.
To permanently preserve the personalization:
- wash at 30°C;
- avoid very high temperatures;
- do not iron directly on the name;
- air dry.
This way, the marking will retain all its sharpness over the years.
7) Simple steps to extend the lifespan of your accessories
A few habits can help you keep your creations even longer:
- alternate when you have two comforters;
- avoid excessively hot washes;
- use a gentle detergent;
- prefer natural drying;
- store accessories in a dry place when not in use.
These small gestures preserve the fibers, colors, and softness of the fabrics.
8) Why do Carotte & Cie products last?
At Carotte & Cie, I make each creation in my workshop in Hauts-de-France.
I prioritize carefully selected materials, artisanal craftsmanship, strong seams, and soft fabrics suitable for little ones for creations designed to be used every day.
My goal is simple: to offer accessories that accompany families well beyond baby's first months.
A comforter often becomes a precious memory. A personalized cushion finds its place in the bedroom for many years. A swaddle or bib can even accompany several children.
Carotte & Cie creations are designed to keep pace with young families: easy to care for, durable, and built to last. By adopting a few simple gestures—washing at 30°C, air drying, and appropriate care for natural materials—you preserve their softness, quality, and the memories they will accompany over the years.
Because a comforter, a mini bib, or a musical cushion is not just an accessory: it is often a reassuring companion from the very first moments of life. Proper care will allow it to continue comforting baby, day after day, while preserving all the artisanal savoir-faire that is the signature of Carotte & Cie.
Your questions
Can a personalized comforter be machine washed?
Yes. A 30°C wash with a gentle detergent is perfectly suitable. We simply recommend avoiding tumble drying to preserve the materials and personalization.
How often should baby's comforter be washed?
On average every one to two weeks, or more often if the child is sick, after falling in a dirty place, or when baby puts it in their mouth a lot.
Can a musical cushion be put in the washing machine?
Yes, provided the musical mechanism is removed before washing.
Can mini bibs be tumble dried?
Natural drying remains the best option to preserve fabrics and extend their lifespan.
How to clean a wooden rattle?
Wood should be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and then immediately dried. It should not be submerged in water.
Are personalized products resistant to washing?
Yes. By following the care instructions (30°C, air drying, no direct ironing on personalization), they will maintain their quality over time.
